A business peer Jeff Billman and I were converting our web sites to the Joomla content management system, Jeff had beat me to replacing the default images. When I first saw his web site, he had a picture of the Cleveland Ohio skyline which I told him was really cool.
We discussed how being within 30 miles of Cleveland we were often considered to be suburban Cleveland. Even the candy company LifeSaver s mentions that Clarence Crain was from Cleveland, Ohio. In reality Clarence was a candy maker from Garrettsville, Ohio in Northeastern Portage County, about 30 miles South and slightly East of Cleveland.
With Jeff being from Windham, Ohio and me Ravenna, we both agreed more
people knew where Cleveland was located and that's why that city got
the attention over a nearby suburbs. The next day he took my signature
and overlaid it over the Clveland skyline picture he had on his page,
for my web site too. Then he explained he got the picture from Wikipeodia's Cleveland page
and thought it was beautiful. When I see it upon visiting my web site,
I see the perspective of a sailboat, and find myself wishing I were
sailing.
I share this story to serve toward explaining about
where I'm from and that it's possible to share a token of thanks to the
community and why I'm using the same picture that Jeff and the
Cleveland Ohio community is on JoeRinehart.com .
While my client, peer, and friend Tom Kotovsky of The Healthy Referral Newspaper may not completely approve of using a candy full of sugar inventor to geographically describe the Northest Ohio region I'm from, but he'd still likely smile ;)
