Sheridan Leroy Rinehart
turned 80 today!
My father Sheridan L. Rinehart enjoyed his 80th birthday today which was organized by the staff at Grandview Memorial Park cemetery. He founded the modern cemetery Grandview Memorial Park in 1966 as he wrapped up his education at Kent State University in Kent Ohio. I've always loved the location of the cemtery which is in the center of the Kent, Brimfield, Rootstown, and Ravenna, Ohio communities.
The Grandview staff bought him a beautiful watch! They must have figured out that if he hasn't retired yet, he probably won't any time soon
While the party started at noon, everyone waited until the grandchildren were all out of school to cut the cake around 4pm. Dad blew out the two candles which consisted of an eight and a zero. I guess when you get to that age there isn't much room even on a respectable cake for 80 candles - LOL
I've been very blessed in life to have the father that G-d gave me! I used to hear how great a guy he is often in my youth. Back then, I used to think people just said that to be nice...Until I became an adult and experienced my fathers influence in both our personal and business affairs. It is the example he lived that I try to use as a guide through life. I've always felt that if I could be half the man as my father, I'd be a decnt guy.... I'm so proud to call him Dad, and to have him call me son...because, I respect him, his life, and thank him for being a great man who cares about his family, and the people in his World!
Happy 80th Birthday Dad!
